In order  to discuss the proposal of  the relocation exercise being initiated by the state forest department, the tribals in Tipeshwar wildlife sanctuary, 180km from here in Yavatmal district, has unanimously resolved to cooperate with state administration  if  all the demands raised before the Govt. are fulfilled in Gramsabha of Tipeshwar village and officla copy of all resolutions of Garm panchayat are with the administration  in open public hearing  have organized by Vidarbha Janandolan Samiti (VJS) as an 'Adivasi Parishad' on April 18. all tribal of tThe three villages in the sanctuary - Tipeshwar, Pitapingri and Maregaon - mostly dominated by Kolam tribals attended  the meeting but non of the representative from forest deptt. Or local administration was present even after repeated request from local Gram panchayat, Vidarbha Janandolan Samiti (VJS) leader Kishor Tiwari informed in press release today.

“Tribal in recent held Gramsabha for the purpose of relocation of Tipeshwar passed resolution asking state Govt. to pay Rs.3 lakhs per acre compensation to land and Rs.10 lakh per family as one time payment for setting up the new village  which will have full facilities of water, school, electricity and basic legitimate  facilities as food security and health care  and today they endorsed the same to abide by the same but administration has already rejected demand land compensation and asking all tribal farmers to shift  without any land which is unjust and will deprive them from their livelihood hence today we have moved fresh resolution  and will give to  forest secretary Praveen Pardeshi who is keen to get expedited the process and mobilised funds from the government but this is very rational for  tribals say they want land in lieu of land and job to one of the project-affected persons (PAPs)” Vidarbha Janandolan Samiti (VJS) leader Kishor Tiwari said.

 Nagpur in Vidarbha recently given the city the status of Tiger Capital of India has immense potential to emerge as gateway for ecotourism at the international level. There are 7 premier tiger sanctuaries around the city which are home to around 300 tigers in the wild. Tadoba, Bor, Nagzira-Navegaon, Pench, Melghat, Tipeshwar are located within 70 to 150 kms from Nagpur airport. Two other rich wildlife reserves of Kanha and Badhavgarh located in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh are also easily accessible from the city but trabls habitat relocation to avoid man-tiger conflict is the main issue behind Tipeshwar plan of  Tribal relocation, Tiwari added.

This year Two tiger deaths were reported and Three tribal women were killed and two men injured in a forest fire in the Tipeshwar Sanctuary ,that has created urgency of tribal relocation from sanctuary and  Vidarbha Janandolan Samiti (VJS) will give full coopretion to administration for the same ,Tiwari reported.
